What you do:
- Show the printable to the children and say:
- "Let’s play 'I Spy' with this winter picture! Can you find all the hidden winter items?"
- Explain that they will search for specific items, name them, and place a glass gem on each one they find.
Search and Find:
- Ask the children to search for specific items by giving clues. For example:
- "I spy with my little eye something that’s cold and white." (snowflake)
- "I spy something round and orange." (carrot for a snowman’s nose)
- Let the children point to the items and then place a glass gem on top.
Describe and Tell Stories:
- Once items are found, ask the children to describe them.
- "What shape is it?"
- "What color is it?"
- Encourage them to make up short stories using the items.
- "How did the snowman get his carrot nose?"
Group Challenge (Optional):
Work as a team to find all the items on the page. Time how quickly they can complete it together.
