Fall Leaves Small World Play Area

Autumn is a great time to let children explore and play with materials found in nature. Our small world play area presents an environment in which your children can develop their creativity and imaginations as they explore, pretend, and play with a variety of nature materials and small toy animals.

Materials we used to create our fall and leaves small world play area:
Wrapping paper storage container
Dried leaves
Small and large rocks
Small tree branch
Pinecones, acorns, maple tree fruits, etc.
PIne needles
Twigs

We love to use wrapping paper storage containers because they keep the materials in place and children can easily play inside them. We placed the play area on a table (it would also work great on the floor) for two to three children to play together.

First, add the leaves and rocks to the container until the bottom is covered. Next, place the tree branch inside.

Next, add some toy animals to the play area. We added a hedgehog, an owl, a squirrel, a nest, and a bird. Aren't they cute?

Last, decorate the surrouding area with a fall poster and some fall decorations.
