Free Gingerbread Man activities and craft ideas
Read and explore many different versions of The Gingerbread Man story.
Various authors have written many different versions of the Gingerbread Man story. Visit the children's section of your local library, and children's book stores to find a nice variety. Talk about how each story is different.
Gingerbread man book suggestions
Make Gingerbread Man Twins
Give each child a copy of a blank gingerbread man. Have them color the two as twins, so that they match exactly (same color eyes, buttons, same color icing, etc.)
Make a Gingerbread Man
Make a Gingerbread Man together in the kitchen. Use a Gingerbread Mix to make your own Gingerbread Man.
Stir a bowl of gingerbread,
Smooth and spicy brown.
Roll it with a rolling pin,
Up and up and down.
With a cookie cutter,
Make some little men.
Put them in the oven
Till half past ten!

Arts and Crafts:
Gingerbread Man Ornaments
Make a dough from applesauce and cinnamon. Press flat, about 1/8 inch thick). Cut with a Gingerbread Man cookie cutter, and use a straw to punch a hole near the top. Lay flat to dry on wax paper. It will take several days unti its dry. Glue on decorations and attach a shiny red ribbon.

Snacks:
Gingerbread man sandwich
Take a Gingerbread Man cookie cutter that fits on a piece of bread. Cut out the Gingerbread shape and spread it with peanut butter. Have children use raisins, M&Ms to decorate.
Gingerbread Houses
Let children construct a simple gingerbread house with some graham crackers, frosting and a few pieces of candy.
